Well, here it is, 9 hours away from leaving, and I'm creating a blog instead of finishing packing.
Just in case you weren't aware: I'm going to Hawaii for 6 weeks to work at a bed and breakfast in Maui. How'd I come across this, you ask?? Well, I decided I wanted to go to Hawaii, so I did what anyone my age would do: sign up to WWOOF (wwoofhawaii.org) and work for 6 weeks to get free housing. I'm excited and ready for whatever comes my way!
Well, I'm just about packed. Trying to decide what to bring and what not to bring is near impossible, and I'm sure I'll forget something ultra important, yet bring something I won't use at all.
I've gotten everything into a backpack, and a suitcase. I feel like I'm packing too much, but then I remember that A. I'm packing for six weeks, and B. some of this stuff doesn't come back with me (food, especially, and maybe some books.)
I'll keep everyone updated with pics and posts starting...maybe tomorrow.
Thanks again for all the great advice and stories everyone has been willing to share!! This is the first place I've ever gone where 95% of all people had places for me to go, friends to visit, things to eat...and I'm ready for all of it!!
HI Moira! I just finished reading your email. Your pictures are fantastic! I don't know how able you are to travel, but make sure you see EVERYTHING you can while you're there.
ReplyDeleteA review of the Hawaiian beers would be good, too. You get to drink them, and we all get the information. Win/win! I remember Primo and Kona Brewery (?) when I was last there, but that was a long time ago.
